Tonight fans gathered at the largest standing room venue in New England to see metal band Wage War. The Roadrunner, which is located in Boston, Massachusetts had quite a long line of fans outside as the doors were opening. Once I got into the venue it was already about half way full but as the evening went on the room was packed. Going into this show I was only familiar with Erra, having seen them on their headlining tour over the summer. But after leaving the venue tonight, I would now call myself a fan of every band that played.

Starting off the night strong was Fame On Fire, their set was very fun to watch. I found myself wishing it was longer though because I was enjoying it so much. Fame On Fire came out ready to party and had tons of energy, prepping the crowd nicely for the rest of the bands.

Thrown was next up and the crowd started getting more into the performance. I was blown away by the screaming vocals from Thrown and their set is perfect for headbanging and moshing.

At this point the venue was quite full… Just in time for Erra’s set. Erra knows how to put on a perfect show. They deliver stunning vocals, clean guitar solos, and maintain fun energy on stage. They grab your attention instantly when they take the stage and keep it the whole time. Once they reached the second to last song, the lead vocalist urged the crowd. He wanted them to have as many crowd surfers as possible. As the song progressed, one crowd surfer went up after another. Even a person with light up sneakers joined in.

When Wage War hit the stage that’s when everything got crazy. Their production, energy, vocals, everything was on point. Their guitarists donning uniquely shaped guitars was one of my favorite parts. The crowd did not disappoint during this set either, everyone was rocking out having a great time. For the first song of their set confetti cannons were going off as well as smoke, catching everyone’s eye. People were crowd surfing left and right, everyone on the barricade were headbanging.

If you are new to the metal scene then I suggest seeing Wage War on the Stigma tour. It feels like it’s a good intro performance for people who are new to metal. The variety of the openers makes it even more appealing. I really enjoyed every band and wished the whole concert was longer because I didn’t want it to end.
