Leeds-based indie rock band Everyone Says Hi today unveil their latest single, “Lucky Stars,” ahead of their self-titled debut album, set to be released on Friday, January 31st.
Frontman Nick Hodgson, formerly of Kaiser Chiefs, shared his inspiration for the track:
I’ve written many of my favourite songs in my old Leeds flat. It holds a special place in my heart. I spent a few days there writing, and ‘Lucky Stars’ and ‘Brain Freeze’ were born. ‘Lucky Stars’ is a straightforward love song.
Already a fan favourite from their recent UK headline tour, “Lucky Stars” is a quintessential widescreen ballad. It features relatable lyrics, anthemic choruses, stunning string arrangements, and captivating melodies, making it a standout track on the upcoming album.
Everyone Says Hi features Nick Hodgson as lead singer/guitarist/frontman, joined by bassist Pete Denton, drummer Glenn Moule, keyboardist Ben Gordon (formerly of The Kooks, The Howling Bells, and The Dead 60s), and Leeds-based guitarist Tom Dawson.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band will embark on a tour, supporting Independent Venue Week and performing at various independent record stores, including a special appearance at the new Rough Trade store on Denmark Street in London.
