Now that is a way to tropicality alright, Ranger offering us ‘Sea Peach’ and what a sucrose fruit it turns out to be. All languid grooves, the sax adding its own brand allure along the way. It feels like an early excursion into summer romance in fact such is the aura that is evoked and this is no doe-eyed effort either as there is a groove to Ranger’s advances. It had echoes of Screamadelica for me but with a new layer of jazz frequencies on top and no little spirituality as the song increasingly grows in confidence as it progresses. KH
