The best thing for me is that ‘Penelope’ has the wind at its back, or at least gives that impression so Desert Man (Sebastian Gäbel from Gothenburg) sound entirely up for ruffling feathers as a result. It takes off at a rate of knots but never forgets to pack the harmonies so no matter the propulsion there is a sweet aroma in tow. Reminded me of Franz Ferdinand in the first instance but there is a softness to Desert Man that that Scottish act don’t really have in their armoury. Likeable stuff, romance without any of the ickiness KH
