Biffy Clyro Tease Surprise Glasgow Show as Screwfish

Biffy Clyro appear set for a last-minute show at Glasgow’s SWG3 tomorrow, May 21st, performing under their original name, Screwfish. Tickets are now available on Ticketmaster for what seems to be a warm-up gig ahead of their appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend on May 23rd.

The Scottish trio has kept a low profile since their 2021 album ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’. Earlier this year, they teased their return with a social media clip captioned ‘Back at it’. Meanwhile, frontman Simon Neil has been active with other projects, including Empire State Bastard, his grindcore collaboration with Oceansize’s Mike Vennart, Slayer’s Dave Lombardo, and Bitch Falcon’s Naomi Macleod.

Although their last album, ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’, dropped in 2021, Biffy Clyro has recently re-engaged with fans. Last year, they issued limited edition pressings of their first three albums, coinciding with their most recent live performance since 2022 at TK Maxx Presents Live at The Piece Hall in Halifax. This activity signals a renewed focus on their catalogue and live presence.
