Brazilian-French artist La Clara Sofia unveils a luminous new chapter with ‘Subi’, the second release from her upcoming EP ABRASA (out October 10, 2025). Following the danceable sensuality of her April single ‘Lança’. Released on June 6, ‘Subi’ drifts away from the rhythmic pulse of samba-rock and disco into more ethereal territory—an intimate moment suspended in time.
Where ‘Lança’ was a provocation, daring the listener to move, ‘Subi’ floats: it’s the hush before the heartbeat, the breath before the leap. Sung in Portuguese, the track captures a fleeting rooftop encounter—the birth of an attraction so delicate it feels like magic. A boy appears, a voice rises, and suddenly reality feels weightless. Every glance and gesture becomes a helium balloon, pulling the moment skyward.
Co-produced with Nicolas Delaffon (of French indie outfit Merle), ‘Subi’ is minimalist yet richly evocative: a stripped-down arrangement of voice, bass, and tactile percussive textures creates a soft, melodic cocoon. Subtle Brazilian undertones linger like a memory, grounding the dreamlike atmosphere in Sofia’s roots while embracing a boundary-blurring alt-pop aesthetic.
With ‘Subi’, La Clara Sofia celebrates the quiet ignition of connection—the split-second spark when anything feels possible. With the upcoming EP ABRASA on the way, the new single deepens the project’s central theme: fire and highlights the inventive creative process that La Clara Sofia puts into her music.
