ONEUS released their 11th mini-album "5x" on June 30, it is an album that expresses the group's musical identity and potential in a formula.
The album name '5x' is a combination of the number '5', which represents the five members, and 'unknown number (x)', which can be substituted with any value, symbolizing the work that contains the unique colors and infinite musical potential of each of the five members.
The title track 'X' is about a variable that has something special, there’s an oddly magnetic pull to it.
The song ecntuates their "freakish charm"—foregrounding funky bass riffs instead of guitar licks and expanding boldly—overturns musical stereotypes. Even as they use melodic instruments more as textures, they’ve elevated their craft to new heights. X isn’t about following formulas handed down by others— it invites you into a new world, one where they create their own rules.

Through this album, ONEUS proves in practice how far their musical world can expand beyond the simple expansion of genres. ‘5x’ is not a set answer, but rather a formula unique to ONEUS that can be filled with numerous interpretations and emotions in their musical diversity, and through this, they once again break down their boundaries and announce the start of a new narrative.
