Tuxis Giant Share New Single “Huey”

Tuxis Giant has unveiled “Huey,” a new single from their forthcoming album, You Won’t Remember This, due out August 15th via Worry Bead Records. “Huey” is a quiet anthem of resilience and tenderness, offering a glimpse into the album’s emotional depth.

Accompanying the track is an interactive music video crafted by bassist Fenn Macon. The video transports viewers into a glowing karaoke bar, transforming vulnerability into a unique kind of power. The song itself finds beauty in everyday moments, like waiting for a text or ordering drinks, culminating in the raw emotion of singing along to Huey Lewis. As Matt O’Connor sings, “Karaoke at our favourite bar / I wanna sing away my cares,” their voice, wrapped in gentle guitars, creates an emotional clarity that makes personal feelings resonate communally.

O’Connor states,

One of the first songs we wrote for this album. When the day-to-day wears you down, it’s the small, simple joys that save you – Narragansett beers at your favourite bar, singing Huey Lewis songs. Crying at karaoke is a little sad, a little funny. But it’s that kind of vulnerability that gives us our humanity.”

The interactive music video for “Huey,” directed and coded by bassist Fenn Macon in Three.js, channels a similar emotional dissonance: the warmth of intimacy against the surreal blur of memory and grief. This innovative visual experience, part game and part film, recreates a familiar Allston bar and city street in a wireframe style, inviting viewers into a stylized, half-remembered version of a real place.

Macon’s visual feat for the “Huey” video was a collective effort from Allston Web Services, a community of seasoned web developers—or “web band”—they are part of. This tight-knit group aims to help small organizations maximize their online presence and provides unique digital solutions for artists to present their vision, exemplified by the “Huey” music video.
