Disgusting Sisters Unleash New Single ‘TGIF’

London-based duo Disgusting Sisters have released their second-ever single, “TGIF,” a riotous, fun-filled weekend anthem designed to blow away the 9-5 cobwebs. The duo, composed of real-life sisters Jules and Josephine, released their debut single “Killing It” last year via Speedy Wunderground. Since then, they’ve earned critical support from the likes of NME and Radio 1, and have also gained significant touring experience supporting Two Door Cinema Club.

Of the single, Disgusting Sisters say,

TGIF” is a song about a person trapped in a dead-end 9-to-5 job, dragging themselves through the same dull routine week after week. By the time Friday hits, they’re so burnt out they morph into a completely different version of themselves -drinking, partying, blacking out, like a werewolf unleashed under a full moon. It’s wild and chaotic, but beneath the surface lies a quiet sadness: this reckless escape is the only way they know to feel alive

Raised between the UK and France, the sisters’ music is influenced by their shared love for emo music, dyed hair, horror movies, and cult TV. Their chaotic electronic pop-rock sound, which they affectionately call “loud, weird & emotionally charged bangers,” was born accidentally on Christmas 2024, mid-Twin Peaks binge and wine-fueled nostalgia. The band’s name, taken from a television series and its famously dysfunctional billionaires, perfectly encapsulates their unapologetic approach to music that is inspired by their teenage playlists and sibling chaos.
