Bloober Team, the studio behind last year’s ace Silent Hill 2 Remake, has confirmed they’re now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill.
Japanese horror game Silent Hill was released in 1999 and follows Harry Mason searching for his missing adopted daughter in the fictional American town of Silent Hill before coming across a cult trying to revive an ancient deity they worship. The psychological horror is regarded as one of the best games ever made and spawned a number of sequels, spin-offs and adaptations. A reimagined version of Silent Hill (Shattered Memories) was released in 2009 and now a full-blown remake has been confirmed.
Bloober Team announced the Silent Hill remake has entered “full production” after teasing the project earlier this year. The news came as part of a recent shareholder meeting, which also confirmed the studio is currently working on an unannounced second game alongside the Silent Hill remake.
“We have two first-party production teams, one of which is working on Silent Hill 1, and the other has begun work on a second project. The second-party team is currently working on five projects,” explained Bloober management (via Insider Gaming).
