After six years, BIGHIT has debuted another boy group with bright and youthful energy. CORTIS is a five-member group consisting of Martin, James, Junhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho.
The word CORTIS is a mix of letters from the phrase “Color Outside the Lines. Which is exactly what they have been showing the world through their authenticity to the art. Having a hand in the music, choreography, and video content on their socials. CORTIS has already begun to make a name for itself because of its achievements individually, but also its achievements as a rookie group.
Highlights of Each Member:
Martin:
He has produced, written, and composed songs for Tomorrow x Together, Enhypen, IllIT, and LE SSERAFIM. The most recent being Tomorrow x Together “Beautiful Stranger” of The Star Chapter: Together. He, alongside the other members, had a hand in producing and creating the songs on the EP. He also participated in the choreography aspect for 'GO!'
James:
He was previously a part of the pre-debut Trainee A (Disbanded in 2022). But he is now making his debut under CORTIS. James was also seen as a backup dancer for BTS Jungkook’s Inkigayo performance for Seven. This gained much attention from fans, seeing him step onto the stage again. He is also credited as a composer for IllIT’s 'Magnetic”' and Tomorrow x Together’s 'Deja Vu'
Juhoon:
He has made his appearances in many on-screen videos before his debut, some of which are the ad for Galaxy Z Flip 4 and VIXX, Zion. T, and MeloMane’s music videos. He has also had a hand in the creation of their debut album. The songs he contributed to are 'GO!,' 'What You Want,' 'FaSHioN,'and 'JoyRide.'
Seonghyeon:
He helped with all the songs on their debut EP, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES. While also participating in the choreography for 'GO!' Even though he’s one of the youngest members in the group. He has created about 100 tracks before his debut.
Keonho:
He helped with four songs on their debut EP, "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES." While participating in the choreography for 'GO!' He is also currently the youngest idol under HYBE LABELS at the age of 16.
“What You Want” is their title track, expressing a powerful sound that showcases their individuality and their wanting to break away from the mold set in front of them. The lyrics explain their goal to seize what they want in the journey ahead of them. One lyric that showcases that desire is “So now I want the whole world to know my name.” Which is one goal CORTIS is working towards and is chasing. Overall, this track has a blend of both hip-hop and rock elements, which brings an unexpected genre style.
CORTIS debuted on August 18, 2025, marking 77 days since their debut. Since then, they have made their mark in K-pop with their debut album charting #15 on the Billboard 200. Creating trends for their music with their choreography for both 'GO!'and 'FaSHioN.' They have already been nominated for five awards at this year's 2025 MAMA Awards. Recently, attending the TikTok Music Awards, they were named “Global Rookies." They also met their fans in Los Angeles, California, where multiple events were held, like a meet-and-greet/fansign and a dance workshop with the members for their song 'GO!' And most notably, were named brand partners with Red Bull which makes them the first K-pop group to collaborate with them.
