The Killers honoured late singer-songwriter Warren Zevon at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2025 ceremony last night (November 8) with a stirring cover of his 1978 track ‘Lawyers, Guns And Money’.
Following an emotional speech by David Letterman in tribute to the late artist who he described as a “classic rock and roll” figure, Brandon Flowers‘ band took to the stage with Dave Keuning performing on a guitar that Zevon had gifted to Letterman before his death in 2003.
During the performance, Waddy Wachtel, who performed on all seven of Zevon’s records, and co-produced three, joined the band on guitar in honour of the late musician’s induction at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. You can view it below.
By the time Zevon passed away, he had already been eligible for the Rock Hall for nine years. He wasn’t nominated until 2023.
