The Governors Ball 2026 Welcomes K-pop Icons: Stray Kids and Jennie as New Headliners

On January 6,The Governors Ball officially unveiled its 2026 lineup, announcing Stray Kids and Jennie as new headliners, alongside acclaimed artists such as Lorde, A$AP Rocky and Kali Uchis. The announcement, almost immediately, generated excitement among fans across social media platforms.

The “Gov Ball” is one of the largest, iconic and anticipated music events that takes place in New York City. Held every June, it’s a three-day festival featuring word-famous artists and a wide variety of musical genres.

This year the festival, once again, brings K-pop to New York with two global acts- and pioneers- as headliners: Stray Kids, who will perform on Saturday, June 6; and Jennie, who will headline Sunday night on June 7.

Stray Kids, a boy group active since 2018, have performed and headlined numerous international music festivals, including Lollapalooza Paris in 2023, as well as Milan I-Days and BST Hyde Park in London in 2024. These appearances have played a key role in solidifying their global fame, showcasing their exceptional talent and powerful performances. Beyond their music, Stray Kids have become influential figures in fashion and fan-cultural-fashion, drawing global attention to K-pop’s appeal also in the festival world.

Jennie is also a no newcomer to the festival scene. In 2023 BLACKPINK made history at Coachella as the first K-pop group to headline the festival, delivering a legendary performance and marking a major milestone in their career. Two years later, in 2025, Jennie returned to Coachella as a solo artist, establishing her solo career as a global pop act. Already known for her charisma and fashion style, her Coachella set revealed a new face and phase of the artist: more mature, bolder and confident. On the stage Jennie wasn’t performing only her solo album, but her new persona, Ruby.

The inclusion of these two icons as headliners reflects the unstoppable growing presence of K-pop worldwide, confirming its relevance in the international panorama. With every concert, festival and public appearance K-pop’s growth represents not only a change in the music industry, but also a cultural exchange and fashion trends that transcend borders. For fans, Stray Kids and Jennie’s performances at The Governors Ball 2026 are more than just concerts and an opportunity to see their favorite artist live: they are milestones that highlight K-pop’s journey from South Korea to global stage, proving that music truly has the power to transcend borders.

With this lineup, this year The Governors Ball promises us a weekend full of energy, artistry and extraordinary performances capable of entertaining the fans and reaching new people.
