The soundtrack for Minecraft-inspired multiplayer game Hytale is now available to stream.
Hytale finally launched into Early Access on Tuesday (January 13) after more than 10 years of development. Originally a spin-off from a number of Minecraft minigames created by Hypixel, the project was acquired by League Of Legends developers Riot in 2020 but they scrapped the game last summer.
However Hytale was rescued by original developer Simon Collins-Laflamme. “Real talk: Hytale isn’t some polished AAA release waiting in the wings. It’s messy. It’s janky. And there’s a lot of work to be done,” he said at the time. “My plan? Get it out to you as soon as possible. No more waiting. You’ll get to play it, rough edges and all. It won’t be perfect on day one. My hope is that together, we’ll shape it into something truly special.”
Collins-Laflamme was expecting more than a million players to log onto Hytale in the first 24 hours but according to the developer, that number was more than 2.8million with more than 400,000 watching on Twitch.

To celebrate the release, Alejandro AT’s ‘Hytale Music: Original Game Soundtrack (Themes & Songs)’ has been released on streaming services. The five-track EP features the tracks ‘Origins Of Orbis’, ‘Beyond The Biomes’, ‘Path Of Adventure’, ‘Echoes In The Night’ and ‘Rise Of The Guardians’.
Following Hytale’s temporary cancellation last summer, composer Oscar Garvin shared more than 200 songs he’d created for the game. They’ve not been added to streaming services yet but he did release new single ‘This Is Our Tale’ to celebrate Hytale’s revival.
“When we reacquired Hytale last November and became an independent studio, we promised to launch without any delays, and we are keeping that promise,” wrote Collins-Laflamme in a statement. “The game is currently in Early Access in its truest form: unpolished and incomplete, but within those rough edges lies the foundation for something extraordinary. For the first time, Hytale is in the hands of the community, to help us shape it into the forever game you all deserve.”
In other news, Donald Trump has angered and confused gamers by sharing a bizarre Stardew Valley meme on social media.
