Some Spirit – “I Won’t Let You Down”

Los Angeles-based project Some Spirit captivates with a moody, visceral sound on new single “I Won’t Let You Down.” Featuring Jonny Diina on vocals, keys, and guitar, the act excels with a climactic, stylish fervency here — reminding fondly of Depeche Mode in its progression from haunting dark pop allure to more electric passion. The “craving something new” vocal yearning is especially compelling, bolstered by reflective vocal layers and twinkling piano. Grimy distortion adorns the title-touting plea with replay-inducing impact, decisive and impassioned in the vocal delivery and accompanying instrumentation. Some Spirit describes the stellar track as “about wanting one more moment of clarity and connection, and the promise not to fail it.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
