The track explores what it means to face uncertainty head-on, turning moments of doubt into motivation and self-belief.
With a background shaped across continents, JulianGK brings a perspective that feels real and relatable. Born in Costa Rica, spending his teenage and early adult years in the United States, and now based in London, his journey is anything but ordinary. Along the way, he connected strongly with surf and skate culture, as well as punk music, elements that continue to define the sound and spirit of his work today.
Launching his solo project in early 2024, JulianGK quickly began making an impact. His debut EP Heart on Sleeve arrived in May 2024, followed by the well-received singles Game of Blood and Breadcrumbs in 2025. Each release showed his ability to merge personal storytelling with high-energy alternative rock.
Now stepping into 2026, JulianGK returns with one of his most introspective songs so far. Waves of Change captures the heavy uncertainty that life can bring, while reminding listeners of the importance of pushing forward even when the future feels unclear. The track was inspired by a difficult moment, as he explains:
“I wrote ‘Waves of Change’ when I was made redundant from my job. I wanted to prop myself up, to feel grateful for what I had, and to convince myself that things would work out. After all, where thoughts go, energy follows.”
Fans of JulianGK’s signature style will feel right at home here. Waves of Change stays true to his pop-punk roots, driven by fast-paced riffs, punchy drums, and an infectious sense of positivity. The track carries a rebellious spark that makes it perfect for kick-starting your day.
With more of 2026 still to come, JulianGK has no plans to slow down. His upcoming releases, Here Goes Nothing in March and Terra Firma in April, promise to continue shaping his place in the alt-rock scene, giving fans even more to look forward to.
