First impression was ‘Sultans of Swing’ by Dire Straits as ‘Golden Days’ has that way about it. So it felt like we were in the hands of consummate operators and they are no middle of the road act either for ‘Golden Days’ has a bright horizon to impart. It ventures from early instrumental territory to a more interwoven vocal arrangement so there is plenty to take on board. At times it felt like Brendan James was bringing an early Radiohead influence but then the cowboy antics took over again and all that paranoia dissipated. KH
