Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is just around the corner, but what songs feature on the soundtrack? Find out below.
The movie spin-off from the hit Netflix series arrives in select cinemas on March 6, before hitting the streaming service on March 20.
Cillian Murphy is returning as the lead character Tommy Shelby in the film, while series creator Steven Knight has written the screenplay and season one director Tom Harper is also back.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy has said. “It is very gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
Netflix has confirmed that Stephen Graham will return as union leader Hayden Stagg, Sophie Rundle is back as Tommy’s sister Ada Shelby and Ned Dennehy’s Charlie Strong will also be featured. Ian Peck’s Curly and Packy Lee’s Johnny Dogs will also be reprising their roles for the Peaky Blinders movie.
A number of new actors have been confirmed to star in the movie. Dune’s Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Jay Lycurgo have all joined the cast in unconfirmed roles, alongside Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan who’ll be playing Tommy’s wayward son Duke Shelby who was first introduced in season six.
The official description of The Immortal Man reads: “Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…”
Antony Genn and Martin Slattery, who composed the score for the fourth season of the show, have also composed the score for the film.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten had written and recorded five new songs especially for the film, while Amy Taylor of Amyl & The Sniffers and Carlos O’Connell and Tom Coll of Fontaines D.C. have also contributed tracks.
The first single from the soundtrack is Chatten’s ‘Puppet’, which you can check out above.
Nick Cave has also recorded a new version of the show’s theme song ‘Red Right Hand’, while there are also two covers of Massive Attack classics – ‘Teardrop‘ by Irish-Cornish band Girl In The Year Above and Chatten’s version of ‘Angel’. Irish doom-folk group Lankum have also contributed the song ‘Hunting The Wren’ and Welsh hardcore band Mclusky have recorded ‘People Person’ for the film.
Cillian Murphy is a longtime fan of Fontaines D.C., having been to the intimate launch show for their 2024 album ‘Romance’ and has recalled thinking that the band’s music sounded like it had been written for Peaky Blinders.
