Night Swimming Announce New EP ‘Melting, Sometimes Bleeding’ and Share “Poison Berry”

Bath-based dream-pop outfit Night Swimming are back with the announcement of their second EP, Melting, Sometimes Bleeding, arriving May 22nd via Venn Records. Following the success of their 2024 debut, the new project sees the band deepening their ties to the genre’s royalty; the EP was produced by Peter Miles and mastered by Slowdive’s Simon Scott. To mark the reveal, the band has shared “Poison Berry,” a hypnotic new single that trades their usual shimmer for a drier, more numb exploration of relationship deadlocks.

Of the single, the band’s vocalist and lyricist, Meg Jones, states,

‘Poison Berry’ details the state of being acutely aware of your partner’s emotions, although they seem distant, and the loneliness (or bitterness) of feeling like that isn’t reciprocated.

The track arrives with a striking one-take music video directed by Jay Bartlett, perfectly capturing the stagnant energy of a partnership in decline. Having already toured with the likes of Miki Berenyi and bdrmm, Night Swimming are quickly becoming a cornerstone of the UK’s new wave of dream-pop. With a headline tour on the horizon, the band is proving they are just as comfortable exploring the bitterness of reality as they are the clouds of fantasy.
