Sony Music West Africa Hosts “Bloom & Bloom 2026” Women’s Month Summit in Lagos

Sony Music West Africa convened its annual Women’s Month summit, Bloom & Bloom 2026, in Lagos, a thoughtfully curated two-day experience designed to inspire, empower, and celebrate women through meaningful dialogue, shared lived experiences, and community.

“Bloom & Bloom is about more than just conversation, it’s about creating intentional spaces where women can see themselves, hear real stories, and leave with a clearer sense of what’s possible. This year, we wanted to deepen that experience by bringing together voices who are not only shaping culture but doing so with purpose, structure, and resilience.”
– Lola Ige, Head of Marketing, West Africa, Sony Music West Africa

Day 1: The Greenhouse Sessions | March 19, 2026

The summit opened on March 19 at Alliance Française Lagos with the Greenhouse Sessions, an intimate, ideas-driven panel experience moderated by Gloria Babarinde. Welcoming 150 guests into the theatre, Lola Ige set the tone for the day, introducing the Bloom & Bloom theme and framing the conversations around growth, intention, and the many forms of becoming.

The first panel brought a lively mix of honesty, humour, and hard-earned insight, as creative multi-hyphenate KieKie, actress Mimi Chaka, and creative director and product experience specialist Alexandra Asogwa (Alex Unusual) explored how they have transformed viral moments into sustainable, evolving careers. Their stories, marked by vulnerability and resilience, resonated deeply with an audience of aspiring creatives and professionals.

The conversation then shifted into the mechanics of power, ownership, and longevity in the second panel. Tosin Ajibade, Founder of OloriSuperGal; entertainment lawyer Yemisi Falaye; and Victoria Remi Nkong, President of bridgeAFRIC, unpacked the critical role of brand building, publishing, and intellectual property. Through real-world examples, they highlighted how structure, legal awareness, and intentionality form the backbone of truly sustainable brands.

The final session of the day grounded the audience in financial literacy and growth. Jennifer Awirigwe (Financial Jennifer), Founder of FinTribe; Nkiru Ajah, Founder of CNM Essentials; Joy Adesanya, Group Managing Director of AJ Skylar Ltd; and Yanmo Omorogbe, Co-Founder and COO of Bamboo, shared practical, experience-backed insights on earning, saving, and scaling, offering attendees tangible frameworks to apply to their own journeys.

The day closed on a warm, social note with a networking session at the amphitheatre, where conversations continued organically between guests and speakers.

Day 2: The Grand Bloom Mixer | March 20, 2026

The evening’s celebrations took place on March 20 at the Wings Office Complex, the Lagos headquarters of Sony Music West Africa. With 500 guests in attendance, the night unfolded as a vibrant celebration of culture, connection, and expression, invitation-only and electric from start to finish.

Hosted by Missy Aliz, the mixer delivered a high-energy experience that seamlessly blended live music and community. Performances from GoodGirl LA, Soundz, Oladapo, and Fimi gave the night its pulse, while DJs Purple Halo, Nina, Dunnie, and Que B curated a rich soundscape spanning Amapiano, House, and Afrobeats. Kenny The Hypeman sustained the energy throughout, creating an atmosphere that was both electric and communal.
