Industrial giants Nine Inch Nails and German producer Boys Noize joined forces for their first full set as ‘Nine Inch Noize’ at Coachella 2026 – check out clips of their performance below.
Ahead of their upcoming surprise collaborative album and expanding on the smaller sets both artists have played together on the past year’s ‘Peel It Back’ tour, their set last night (April 11) opened with a remix of Nails’ 2007 track ‘Vessel’.
Trent Reznor and his wife Mariqueen Maandig (also singer of How To Destroy Angels) were stood beside each other at the back of a tunnel cut through a mountainous looking stage, which provided as the backdrop for a production-heavy set that featured a dozen dancers.

Their entire 45-minute set remixed Nine Inch Nails tracks, with reimagined, beat-driven takes on fan favourites like ‘Closer’, ‘Copy of A’ and ‘Me, I’m Not’. Another highlight included a performance of ‘Parasite’, a track from Reznor and Maandig’s side project, How to Destroy Angels.
Their stint on the Sahara stage also served as a preview of what fans can expect from their first full-length album together. Announced earlier this week, the record will be released on April 17, and is tagged as ‘HALO 38’, in keeping with the sequentially numbered releases from throughout Nine Inch Nails’ career.

The two artists’ history of working together dates back to working on the soundtracks to Challengers and TRON: Ares.
Nine Inch Nails had enlisted Boys Noize to “deconstruct and subsequently reimagine” Reznor and Atticus Ross’ score for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers in 2024, and they went on to work together on the soundtrack to TRON: Ares last year.
Around a similar time, there was a bit of controversy when Reznor suggested that NIN were going on a performing hiatus. At the final show of the ‘Peel It Back’ tour, he spoke about the future of the band, clarifying previous remarks that had suggested the band would never play again. “I think I said something the other day that then got misconstrued into something that is not intentionally necessarily true,” he explained.
“What I said was, this is the last show of this tour and we don’t have any shows booked and we don’t have any plans to book any shows any time in the future so far. That doesn’t mean we may not tour again.”
Drummer Ilan Rubin departed Nine Inch Nails last year to join Foo Fighters, with Josh Freese moving the other way, and Rubin recently said the swap was “an obvious great fit”.
