Cult action role-playing game Bloodborne is getting a R-rated animated movie adaptation, with YouTuber JackSepticEye serving as producer.
The original Bloodborne was released in 2015 and took influence from the works of fantasy horror authors Bram Stoker and H. P. Lovecraft. The game went on to sell over 7million copies but developers FromSoftware never made a sequel.
Announced at last night’s CinemaCon (April 13), Sony boss Sanford Panitch said the animated take on Bloodborne would be “very true” to the gory video game (via Variety).
The film will be co-produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation and YouTuber and gaming content creator Seán McLoughlin AKA JackSepticEye.
honestly i infinitely have so much more faith in my favorite game getting an adaptation when the person behind it realizes that animation is the the best possible route for a fromsoft title instead of live action
