Reimagination: The Remixes, Vol. 1 transforms five standouts from M4TR‘s Love Is the Revolution album into dancefloor-ready anthems. Collaborating with Grammy-winner Philip Larsen and Billboard chart-topper Mr. Mig, songwriter AJ Solaris evolves his signature dark synthpop and funk into a colorful, club-ready pull. These ten tracks push the project’s intricate emotional core into vibrant new territory. Volume 2, featuring additional international producers, is already in development for late 2026.
The original version of “Coup de Grace” — one of many Love Is The Revolution standouts — excelled in its dynamic tonal range, seamlessly expanding from jangly introspection to vibrant guitar pulses and anthemic, title-bearing vocals. Philip Larsen’s Albatross Remix uplifts the track with a sense of immediacy, as shimmering synths and bouncy bass lead into the moody verses, retaining the original guitar jangling while also set here alongside sturdy electronic reverberations. A funky presence was apparent in the original track’s chorus, and Larsen’s remix embraces that infectiousness as well, furthered by gurgling synth tones and head-nodding rhythms, within themes capturing the cathartic end of a toxic relationship. Its extended remix also captivates, with more free-flowing guitar lines fit for brisk dancefloor movements.

Larsen’s remix of “The Spektre” — a dark tale of love, from the perspective of a stalker — enthralls as well, expanding upon an original that already showed plenty of heart in its glitzy electro-pop and brass-laden allure. The new version fully struts that late-night, neon-lit feeling, cohesively shifting between “I am the spektre” confident vocal pushes and spurts of brassy/synth interplay. Its three-minute turn is especially delightful, swelling from full-throttle instrumentation to a debonair vocal re-emergence. The ensuing “Kill The Self” finds Larsen shifting to a more urgent electro-pop vibe, pairing “days like these” vocal contemplations on narcissism’s consuming nature with illuminated synth tones and galloping synth-bass. The original version of “Kill The Self” embraces synths as well, though Larsen’s interpretation touts a more starry-eyed, all-enveloping display that charms in its Erasure-like energy.
Mr. Mig’s Ibiza Remix of “Hooks” is a catchy gem as well, arriving to its “don’t take your hooks out of me” proclamation alongside effervescent synths, driving bass, and clanging house-ready keys. “The music melts your mind, just as you try to flee,” the vocals venture alongside the throbbing rhythms, replay-inducing as the title-bearing hook moves forth into expressive strings. Larsen’s Alchemy Remix of “Life Without Her” arrives next, melding a smitten lyrical sense with a spacey electro-pop soundscape, shades of Pet Shop Boys’ Very era, especially as the “she’s gone” soaring vocals hit. Across both its radio edits and extended versions, the tracks on Reimagination: The Remixes, Vol. 1 dazzle with ample heart and memorably melodic vibrancy.
