Russell Brand has responded to the widely-mocked viral clip of him trying to find a Bible verse while being interviewed by Piers Morgan.
Appearing recently on the presenter’s Uncensored show last week, Morgan brought up Brand’s decision to take a Bible into court for a hearing earlier this year, which was confiscated in the dock.
The comedian is currently awaiting trial on counts of rape and sexual assault, having been charged in April 2025 against four women, while further charges against two women were brought in December. Brand has denied all claims and pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
While on Morgan’s show, the presenter asked: “Can I go back to asking you a question about your Bible? Is that the one you took into court? What was your thinking of taking it into court? And you were seen looking at some passages – what were the relevant passages?”
This is, hands down, the most uncomfortable two minutes I’ve watched in a long time. Russell Brand is asked to identify a Bible verse relevant to his, um, legal battles and spends a few minutes clumsily thumbing through Scripture and arrives at nothing. pic.twitter.com/KS0ZQTg6t2
