Remakes of the original Devil May Cry and the first Resident Evil game are reportedly on the way, according to leakers.
The original Devil May Cry was released in 2001 and introduced gamers to the demon-slaying Dante. A number of sequels followed, including 2019’s Devil May Cry 5, alongside comics, novels and a recent Netflix animated adaptation.
Leaker Stiviwonder (via My Nintendo News) has now claimed a remake of the original Devil May Cry is in “active development” at Capcom.
That’s not the only remake the studio is allegedly working on though. According to leaker Dusk Golem, Capcom had a meeting in the summer of 2022 where they greenlit remakes of Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Shortly afterwards, a number of fan projects using those titles for inspiration were shut down. It’s also claimed Resident Evil 10 is in development, with Resident Evil 2 protagonist Claire Redfield set to return.
Release dates for these games are unknown and Capcom has yet to officially confirm any of them are actually in production.
