Cardiff’s premier multi-venue music showcase, Sŵn Festival, has announced the first wave of artists for its highly anticipated 19th edition, taking place from Thursday, October 15th to Saturday, October 17th, 2026. Returning to the expanded three-day format that cemented its recent success, the festival is once again integrated into the broader Cardiff Music City Festival. Boasting a lineup described as a masterclass in “fearless programming,” this year’s event will see top-tier local, national, and international breakout acts take over independent city staples like Clwb Ifor Bach, Tramshed, and Jacobs Basement.
The initial announcement highlights a stellar mix of genre-defying newcomers and celebrated returning favourites. Breakthrough Irish modern-folk artist Dove Ellis is set to make his Cardiff debut at Tramshed following the immense success of his otherworldly album Blizzard, alongside fellow Irish indie-rockers Cardinals and London soul-pop visionary Bel Cobain. Attendees are also in for a massive moment of festival history as Dana Margolin, leader of the recently disbanded indie-pop favourites Porridge Radio, takes the stage solo to debut unreleased material. They are joined by heavyweight post-punk outfit Working Men’s Club, the shape-shifting art-punk collective HMLTD, and Scottish alt-pop group Lucia & the Best Boys, who arrive fresh off the release of their star-studded sophomore record Picking Petals.
True to its foundational mission, Sŵn 2026 seamlessly balances international buzz with a robust spotlight on home-grown Welsh talent. Music fans can catch avant-folk composer Cerys Hafana, the retro psych-rock grooves of Pys Melyn, and the infectious, bilingual alt-pop hooks of rising stars Wrkhouse. General admission tickets, concession discounts for students and Blue Light cardholders, and flexible payment plans are available now, ensuring the community-focused weekend remains accessible to all.
