What a disorientating array of electronic components to head up this track and it was just laying the groundwork for a tune that is high on life and with a tune that is romantic as can be. There is a propulsion from Stephen Roper but every step of the way is marked by a wonder that feels like it is set for those long summer days. Topped by a swoonsome chorus there is just so much packed in but ‘Notes in the Door’ never feels overcomplicated. Instead it just fly’s and we get an unexpected lift as a result. KH
