Acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin has announced her highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Gem, set for release on September 25th. Marking her debut release for the legendary independent label 4AD, the 10-track record was entirely self-produced alongside Robert Muinos in Melbourne. To celebrate the announcement, Jacklin has shared the album’s lead single, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon),” alongside a self-directed music video. The news precedes an intimate summer solo in-store tour across the UK and Ireland, ahead of a massive global headline tour launching this autumn.
Premiered by Australia’s flagship youth radio station triple j, “Get Away From Me (I Think I’ll Love You Soon)” finds Jacklin pivoting toward a bold, infectious nod to 1980s jangle rock and the distinct Melbourne indie scene she fell in love with. The single’s companion video, conceived and created by Jacklin herself, joyfully reimagines the striking, artistic cover art of The Gem. The album will be available worldwide across all digital formats, CD, and cassette, alongside a stunning array of retail-exclusive colored vinyl variants, including Turquoise, Green Opal, Ruby, and Rose Quartz.
Fans in the UK and Ireland won’t have to wait until autumn to catch a glimpse of the new material. In just two weeks, Jacklin will kick off a highly exclusive, five-date solo tour of independent record stores, offering fans an incredibly rare opportunity to hear stripped-back versions of tracks from The Gem and attend exclusive signing sessions. The run kicks off at Dublin’s Spindizzy on June 28th, before travelling through Brighton’s Resident, London’s Rough Trade East, and Liverpool’s Jacaranda, finally wrapping up at Rough Trade Nottingham on July 3rd. These intimate sessions will serve as a warm-up for a massive, full-band headline tour spanning North America, the UK, and Europe, set to begin in October 2026 and run well into 2027.
