Rotterdam Post-Hardcore Outfit Tramhaus Share Cultic Video for New Single ‘Plovdiv’

Rotterdam quintet Tramhaus have shared a grisly, ritualistic new music video for their latest single, “Plovdiv.” Released today, June 16th, the track is the latest offering from their highly anticipated forthcoming album Blister, which is set for release on October 9th as a unique collaborative release between six independent European record labels. The visual drop caps off a massive week for the band, coming hot on the heels of their largest festival performance to date, playing to a crowd of 10,000 last weekend at Best Kept Secret.

The companion video for “Plovdiv” pushes the band’s tense, post-hardcore sonic flavour to its absolute limit through a dark, surreal lens. Directed by acclaimed multidisciplinary artist Héctor Garcia Martin (better known as Hache), whose portfolio includes standout visuals for Dutch underground staples like Iguana Death Cult and The Homesick, the video introduces a grim narrative of hooded cabals and human sacrifice. Rather than just relying on generic horror tropes, Hache uses the song’s intense, driving energy to humorously and darkly dissect the modern corporate world, framing the piece around a bizarre ritual tracking the literal origins of corporate CEOs.

She describes,

“Basically the whole concept for the video was where do CEO’s come from? The song really gave me the cult vibes and I think it works really nice all together.”

The release marks a crucial stepping stone in Tramhaus’s meteoric rise within the European alternative scene. Known for their fierce, uncontainable live energy, the five-piece is currently gearing up for a staggering, marathon 80-date tour spanning across the EU and the UK. The massive touring cycle, which is scheduled to run well into next spring, will include a highly anticipated run across the UK this October, where they will be hitting the road in support of Irish noise-rockers Gurriers.
