Now that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married, several sources have claimed the big day included performances from Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.
The couple, who announced their engagement last August, celebrated their wedding at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Friday night (July 3). It was a star-studded affair, with a number of famous faces in attendance.
These included Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Jack Antonoff, the Haim sisters, Sombr, Ellie Goulding, Camila Cabello, Machine Gun Kelly, the Chainsmokers, Lucy Dacus, Benson Boone and more.
Now, rumours that Fleetwood Mac legend Nicks was set to perform at the ceremony have been confirmed, with Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts saying on Saturday’s (July 4) broadcast: “We can confirm that Stevie Nicks did perform.”
Additionally, The New York Times reported that Swift herself also took part in a soundcheck with Nicks at Madison Square Garden. At the time of writing, what Nicks performed has not yet been revealed.
Similarly, sources have also claimed that Beatles icon McCartney performed ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ at the couple’s star-studded reception, per People. It comes shortly after she shared praise for his latest album ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane‘, saying she’s “never not inspired” by his work.
Beyond the music industry, Swift also made sure to invite celebrities she’s bonded with over the years, like Marisa Hargitay from Law & Order: SVU. Dakota Johnson, Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, and Jessica Chastain.
Ahead of the wedding, only a select few details were revealed, with a city permit outlining the schedule obtained for the high-profile event.
The latest reports come after Swift and Kelce donated $26million (£19.5million) to 20 charities across the United States earlier this week.
The wedding has also drawn comment from New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose office confirmed the “Special Event at MSG” permit had been approved on Wednesday night (July 1).
Mamdani has declined to go into further detail about the city’s role in the event, although he joked at a recent press conference: “If you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”
The mayor has also leaned into the Swift conversation this week by revealing his favourite Taylor Swift songs to the New York Times, with his list including ‘Only The Young’, ‘Love Story’, ‘My Tears Ricochet’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘I Know Places’.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Swift and Kelce’s wedding invitations reportedly came with NDAs ahead of the rumoured Madison Square Garden nuptials.
Swift released her latest album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ last October, with NME giving it three stars and writing: “To seek escapism is not a sin, but the best pop music makes the personal feel like life or death.”
