London indie-rock outfit The Howlers have shared their latest single, “Cold Sweat,” released via FLG Records. The powerful new track serves as the final preview of their second studio album, Heavy, which is slated for release on October 9th. To celebrate the release, the band has also announced an upcoming run of tour dates supporting Australian hard-rock icons Wolfmother.

Opening with atmospheric synth textures wrapping around driving guitar lines and taut percussion, “Cold Sweat” provides a moody backdrop for frontman Adam Young’s smooth vocals. The track carries deep personal weight, originating from a dark period during which Young faced a severe, undiagnosed health scare that left him fighting for his life on multiple occasions.

Adam shares,

Almost every day since I wake up with a dull headache. It got to the point where I had to make peace with the pain and begin rebuilding my life. The song takes on the narrative of this struggle and my relationships within it.

The single marks a fresh chapter for the band, following a period of reinvention at the end of 2024 that saw Young rebuild The Howlers as a dynamic duo alongside drummer Toby Richards. Written and produced remotely in collaboration with Black Honey’s Chris Ostler, Heavy deliberately avoids standard studio conventions, opting for remote file exchanges before bringing raw energy into rehearsal spaces to record live drums.

Fresh off European dates alongside Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, and Deep Purple, The Howlers will support “Cold Sweat” and Heavy with an extensive headline tour across the UK and Europe. “Cold Sweat” is available to stream on all major digital platforms now.
