Paris Jackson, the daughter of the King Of Pop, has just reached a major milestone of her own. Following the release of her sophomore album Happiest Day Of My Life on August 21, the “zombies in love” singer will perform her first headlining dates in Europe, landing spots in Berlin, Amsterdam, and London this October.
The news comes amid Jackson’s ongoing Zombies Tour of North America, with upcoming dates in Atlanta, Seattle, Toronto, Boston, and New York, among many other cities. On some of the dates, Jackson will be performing in support The Pretty Reckless, the rock band led by Taylor Momsen. Jackson has previously performed with some of the biggest names in rock music, including the Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Marcy Playground, and Bright Eyes.
While she’s on the road, Jackson has also been gearing up for the release of her second album Happiest Day Of My Life, which comes after her 2020 debut album Wilted. So far, she’s teased the sophomore album with the singles “teenage drama,” “zombies in love,” and “stitched (on&on).” Jackson also counts some impressive collaborators on her roster for Happiest Day Of My Life, including prolific songwriter and 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry, plus Butch Walker and Jason Lader.
Though Jackson is the daughter of pop icon Michael Jackson, her music is quite different from the genres that one might associate with her father. The younger Jackson has previously cited Radiohead as one of her biggest influences. “As far as songwriting goes, I’m really, really just in love with Andy Hall and Conor Oberst’s writing,” Jackson said in an interview earlier this year with the Trying Not To Die podcast. “I really love Margo and the Nuclear So-and-Sos, Mimicking Birds, just lyrically and melodically. But for the new stuff that I’m working on sonically, it’s a lot more like Marcy Playground, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana.” Even with such an impressive pop pedigree, Jackson is still carving her own lane.
