Earlier this month, Markle and Prince Harry announced they would be moving back to the UK with their two children for an “extended period” after six years of living in California.

The announcement spurred speculation that Markle would be eyeing a return to acting, with Australian news outlet News.com.au reporting earlier this week that she had been “offered a role in an upcoming project based in the UK.”

Now, it’s been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex is in talks to join the third season of Netflix‘s The Gentlemen, as per a report from Variety.

The series is a spin-off of Richie’s 2019 movie of the same name, and stars Theo James as Eddie Halstead, who has inherited an estate of 15,000 acres and the title of Duke of Halstead from his deceased father. He soon discovers the land, however, is part of Mickey Pearson’s cannabis empire.

The series has not yet been officially renewed for a third season, although season two is set to premiere on September 3. Markle’s potential role has not been identified, and she is said to be in very early talks, with no contract in place. Neither Markle nor Netflix have commented on the reports.

Markle already has a relationship with Netflix, with her and Prince Harry’s Archewell Productions having a deal in place with the streamer. Together, the two companies have produced Markle’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, which launched her brand As Ever, in addition to the docuseries Heart of Invictus and Harry & Meghan, among others.

Before that, Markle was known for her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits, which she starred in for seven seasons from 2011 to 2018. After marrying Prince Harry in 2018, she stepped back from acting, though she’s set to make a cameo as herself in the upcoming Amazon MGM comedy Close Personal Friends starring Brie Larson and Lily Collins.

In other news, last year Markle thanked Billie Eilish after she sent merchandise to a fan who lost a T-shirt from one of her concerts in the LA wildfires.
