Guitar Hero’s spiritual successor Stage Tour is set to launch later this year with more than 90 songs on the soundtrack.
The Guitar Hero series was put on hiatus after the release of 2015’s Guitar Hero Live but last year, original game developers revived their RedOctane studio and confirmed they were working on a brand new game. “This game won’t be Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Guitar Freaks or Rock Band. This is something new,” they wrote at the time.
Over the past few months, RedOctane have been revealing the game’s soundtrack bit-by-bit and last night, they confirmed the release details of Stage Tour.
Stage Tour will launch December 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. The rhythm game will work with some existing instrument controllers but fans can also purchase a number of different peripherals. A copy of the game plus a Kramer wireless guitar controller will set you back £119.99 while a bundle featuring two guitar controllers is £179.99. The Band bundle – featuring guitar, drums and a microphone – is priced at £269.99. Pre-orders are now live here.

As well as playing solo or with friends, Stage Tour owners can take on “the all-new roguelite Tour Mode, where every run brings new choices, challenges and opportunities for your band, creating an endlessly replayable experience.”
