D.O Adds "DOPAMINE" to Daily Life in 4th Mini Album

D.O. has released his 4th mini-album, "DOPAMINE," on September 8. D.O., who has captivated listeners with his rich, deep vocal tone across every album, sings of love’s most radiant, blossoming moments in "DOPAMINE." The album features 6 tracks.

'Sing It Loud' is a band-sound-based track that evokes the feeling of running freely across a vast, open meadow. The combination of upbeat drums, guitar, and a refreshing melody instills a sense of freedom, liberation, and nostalgia for the moments of youth. Notably, the song features sections designed for the audience to sing along, creating the sensation of D.O. and his fans uniting to craft a perfect performance. It is characterized by a bright energy and lyrics that encourage listeners to break free from the weariness of daily life and shout and run together.

'Dancing Party' is an uptempo indie pop-rock dance track that tastefully blends a diverse array of musical elements. Centered around rhythmic acoustic guitar and infused with the stylish flair of jazz chords, the track features live drums and bass that create a party atmosphere true to its title. It evokes the excitement of singing and dancing freely while out for a drive.

The title track 'Guitarist' is an R&B and Soul-based song featuring a restrained rhythm; here, the guitar transcends its role as a mere instrument to become a storyteller that speaks emotions on the artist's behalf. PENOMECO, who previously collaborated on tracks like "Fit" and "DUMB," participated in writing the lyrics, using the image of guitar playing—where fingers seem on the verge of touching—to elegantly express the flutter of excitement flowing between two people.

The guitar tone and D.O.’s flexible, stylish vocals fill each other's spaces, finding a unique, harmonious chord that belongs solely to them. In particular, the vocal variations that naturally expand toward the latter half of the song vividly convey the moment when emotions reach their peak. Like a perfect harmony struck from a casual strum, the heartbeat connecting them through music and love resonates as the ultimate love song for the two.

'Don't You' is an uptempo pop-disco track driven by funky guitar, bass lines, and groovy drums. The guitar sound—a modern reinterpretation of 1970s funk—harmonizes beautifully with D.O.’s charming and fluid vocals.

Finally 'Dear' is a ballad track that begins with a gentle piano melody and quietly builds emotional depth, unfolding much like a scene from a movie. At the beginning of the track, D.O.’s deep emotional resonance unfolds over a calm, delicate piano melody, while the addition of guitar and strings in the latter half expands the song’s emotional scope. His warm yet weighty vocal delivery further refines the track's emotional depth.

Spanning diverse genres—from R&B and acoustic to disco—this album builds a cohesive narrative centered on D.O.’s unrivaled voice, capturing the newfound boldness and excitement of a heart facing love and the subtle shifts in the atmosphere between two people.

Meanwhile, D.O. will hold his solo concert [DAY OFF] from October 2 - 4 in Seoul.
