no na, the first-ever global pop girl group from Indonesia, released their highly anticipated debut full-length album island girl via 88rising. 

The album’s 15 songs treat flirtation, femininity, and friendship as equally worthy of an anthem, and prize confidence and fearlessness while coming of age.

It’s filled with a genre of their own making, Island Pop, which takes influence from the tropical warmth of their home and weaves it with the global sounds of '80s R&B, dangdut, new jack swing, and synth-funk. 

From the metallic pulse of ceng-ceng in “work” to the chimes of gamelan in “rollerblade” to the staccato of a minibus horn on “honk!” to the world they build on “speaker freaker the long song,” everything no na does centers Indonesian culture – even the group’s name plays on the word for “young lady.” 

Last week, no na released “speaker freaker (the long song),” a nearly 15-minute stunning musical and visual journey seamlessly blends eight songs, including global viral hit “rollerblade,” “work” and seven previously unheard tracks from the album.
