Following the release of CYRRCA 2.0, Seoul-based musician, writer, and producer CYRRCA expands his HyperMeditative universe with CYRRCA 2.0 Deluxe: an 18-track edition that pushes the project further into club music, hyperpop, K-Bass, ambient, and experimental electronics. A Michigan native who made South Korea his home after traveling across Eurasia,
CYRRCA has spent more than seventeen years immersed in Korea’s music scene, transforming that experience into a multidisciplinary world of sound, writing, and art.
The original album, embraced by DAZED Korea, VISLA, and Mixmag Korea, gradually emerged as a sleeper hit within Seoul’s underground scene. Moving across experimental electronic music, K-Bass, ambient, UK garage, ghetto tech, Brazilian funk, and dub techno, CYRRCA 2.0 Deluxe is anchored by CYRRCA’s bilingual lyricism and distinctive experience living in Korea for over nineteen years.
Originally developed under the working title HyperMeditative, the project transforms meditation into motion, exploring the tension between speed and stillness, rave energy and introspection. CYRRCA moves fluidly between English and Korean, singing, rapping, and narrating as the album shifts between humor, reflection, and kinetic club energy. Collaborations with SUMIN, Lil Cherry, jerd, KHYO, and bojvck further connect the project to a broad cross-section of South Korea’s alternative music scene.
CYRRCA 2.0 Deluxe expands that world through new reinterpretations from some of Seoul’s most distinctive electronic producers. h4rdy, whose KR.UK EP with DJ co.kr was recently named among Mixmag’s best releases of 2026 so far, brings his UK bass and dancehall sensibility to “ICED AMERICANO FOREVER (feat. Lil Cherry).” Hoonnie reimagines “CHU NOW (feat. SUMIN),” while experimental producer Yeong Die, following the release of Uncapturable on ESP Institute, transforms “JII MA” into an IDM-inflected club cut. The Deluxe edition also adds two deep cuts, including a collaboration with Seoul producer/DJ L-like.
At the center of the Deluxe release is “ICED AMERICANO FOREVER (feat. Lil Cherry) [h4rdy Remix]”, a playful multilingual anthem inspired by Korea’s enduring iced Americano culture and the phrase 얼어 죽어도 아아 (“even if I freeze to death, I drink iced Americano”). CYRRCA and Lil Cherry’s original track moves across Korean, Spanish, English, and French. For the Deluxe edition, h4rdy reworks the song with a dancehall edge, giving it a heavier, club-driven energy while retaining its cheeky character.
The accompanying music video was filmed by longtime CYRRCA collaborator junglë across Iceland's glaciers and the streets of London, a raw counterpart to the still, ritual-like album photography shot on the beaches of Ishigaki. Lil Cherry also appears in the visual, transported to Iceland through deliberately simple greenscreen effects.
At its core, CYRRCA 2.0 Deluxe captures the energy of Seoul’s alternative music scene, bringing together artists working across club music, hyperpop, K-Bass, ambient,
and experimental electronics. Held together by CYRRCA’s singular voice and bilingual perspective, the result feels distinctly Korean and unmistakably universal.

ABOUT CYRRCA:
In 2006, CYRRCA sold everything he owned and left his native Michigan for a year in South Korea, before setting off on an extensive backpacking journey across Eurasia via the Trans-Siberian Railway. He returned to Seoul in 2008, and has called it home ever since. Now a musician, writer, and producer with 17+ years in Korea’s music scene, CYRRCA takes his name from circa with an Odyssean twist; a reference to both time and an inner journey. He moves between indie music, hip-hop, experimental electronics, and multidisciplinary art. His CYRRCA project began as a personal journey through myth, language, and sound, eventually becoming his debut album and multidisciplinary project featuring a 200-page art book, visual album, and 13 Moons Ritual Gatherings exhibition series.
Before CYRRCA, he was vocalist and guitarist of Used Cassettes, one of the first foreign bands to sign with a Korean label, and co-founded Loose Union, a collective connecting Korean and expat musicians. He is also guitarist and lead singer of emo grunge band [othersmayforgetyoubutnoti] and vocalist and meditation guide of electronic meditation project NowTone. CYRRCA regularly performs across Korea, including at Seoul Community Radio, Cakeshop, Thila, Rolling Hall, and many more.
