One Fun Meet, One Fansign, and a Little More Time With ENHYPEN

Somehow, my favorite group always finds a way to make the impossible happen.

If you had told me at the start of 2026 that I would be seeing ENHYPEN again in October, I probably would have laughed. Not because I didn't want to, but because I had already accepted that this year would be a little different.

Last year, I traveled across three countries to see ENHYPEN on their WALK THE LINE Asia Tour. Those trips gave me memories I still find myself returning to, especially on days when I miss them a little more than usual. This year, though, I didn't get to travel for their concerts. And with no concert dates in the Philippines to look forward to, I honestly wasn't sure when I would see them again.

Then came October 3 and 4.

What started as a desperate attempt to secure tickets to their ENDLESS Fun Meet turned into a weekend I never could have planned for. And if there's one thing being an ENGENE has taught me, it's that sometimes the best memories are the ones you never saw coming.

A Little Bit of Luck, a Whole Lot of Panic

When ticket selling opened, I was already deep in the online queue. My number was around 20,000, while my other friend was even further back at over 70,000. If you've ever tried securing tickets to a K-pop event, you probably know exactly where this was going.

Things weren't looking particularly promising.

While we were busy staring at our queue numbers, another friend decided to try her luck at a physical ticket booth. She went there to line up and buy tickets on-site, even as seats were already starting to sell out. At some point, the cashier reloaded the ticketing site several times.

And then, somehow, three SVIP B tickets appeared.

Three tickets.

I don't think I need to explain how quickly we went from accepting defeat to scrambling for a chance to see ENHYPEN. One moment, we were watching our queue numbers crawl. The next, we were figuring out how to secure three tickets that, just minutes earlier, didn't seem to exist.

Looking back, I still find the whole thing ridiculous in the best way possible. We could have easily missed out, but somehow, we ended up in the right place at the right time. Or at least, one of us was.

October 3: A Year Later, and Here We Were Again

There was something especially meaningful about the timing of the fun meet.

October 3 marked exactly one year since I saw ENHYPEN's WALK THE LINE concert in Singapore. The following day marked a year since Day 2 of that same stop.

I hadn't planned for things to line up this way, but I couldn't help thinking about it.

A year earlier, I was in Singapore, traveling across countries to see the boys and collecting memories that would stay with me long after the concerts ended. This time, I was back home in the Philippines, getting ready to see them in a completely different setting.

And honestly, I needed this more than I realized.

This year hasn't exactly been the easiest. With so much happening around us, from ongoing conflicts and inequality to the struggles we quietly carry in our own lives, there were days when everything felt a little too heavy. Sometimes, the world can become so overwhelming that you don't even know where to begin making sense of it.

(And if you're going through something too, hey, my DMs are open. Hit me up! You don't even have to know what to say. I'm here to listen!)

Maybe that's why seeing ENHYPEN again felt so important. For a few hours, I could put everything else down. I could sit in an arena with thousands of other ENGENEs, sing along to songs I love, laugh at whatever chaos the boys got themselves into, and simply enjoy being there.

I didn't need anything extraordinary to happen. I was already grateful to have a ticket and an evening to look forward to.

Then the universe decided to give me a little more.

Still Finding Home

One of the things I love about ENHYPEN events is that the experience often begins long before the lights go down. While we were waiting inside the arena, I was already taking everything in, knowing that in just a little while, I would finally see ENHYPEN again after a year.

Then, completely out of nowhere, "Blossom" started playing.

I genuinely froze.

I've wanted to hear that song live for so long, especially since it's one ENHYPEN has primarily performed during their Japanese activities. It was one of those songs I had quietly hoped I would experience in person someday, without really knowing when that day would come. So hearing it play inside an arena in Manila felt almost surreal. Of all the songs they could have played while we waited, it was one I had been hoping to hear for ages.

It felt like a tiny gift before the fun meet had even begun.

Then the lights went down, the stage came alive, and ENHYPEN finally appeared.

The fun meet opened with "Bloody Paradise," and I barely made it through the first few seconds before I started crying. Did I overreact? Maybe. But after spending a year wondering when I would see them again, suddenly having them right in front of me felt strangely familiar. Like seeing someone you hadn't seen in a long time and realizing just how much you had missed them.

There's a line from the Filipino song "Kahel Na Langit" (Orange Sky) by local artist Maki that goes, "minsan gusto kong magsumbong sa'yo, kapag pagod na pagod na ako." It roughly translates to, "Sometimes, I wanna break down and tell you everything, especially when life's gotten the best of me."

That was exactly how I felt.

I wanted to tell them everything that had happened since the last time I saw them. The difficult days, the things that hurt, the things I survived, and all the little moments I wished someone had been there to witness. I wanted to tell them that this year had been hard and that there were things I was still figuring out how to carry.

Of course, ENHYPEN didn't know any of that. They were simply onstage, doing what they do best for thousands of ENGENEs who had gathered to see them. But you don't need someone to know the whole story for their presence to mean something.

Sometimes, being there is enough.

The rest of the night was filled with moments I had been hoping to experience for myself. We got to hear "Big Girls Don't Cry" live for the first time, alongside "Bloody Paradise," before "XO (Only If You Say Yes)" brought us closer to the finale. Every performance felt a little more special knowing that I had spent the past year wondering when I would get to see them again.

And then came "SHOUT OUT."

For Filipino ENGENEs, the song already carries a little piece of home because the Philippines was featured in its music video. Hearing it during the encore, with thousands of fans singing along, felt like the perfect way to close the night. I looked around and saw an entire arena sharing the same happiness, and for a moment, everything felt wonderfully simple.

A year ago, I had crossed borders to see ENHYPEN. This time, I only had to show up. They were right there.

And, of course, it wouldn't be an ENHYPEN event without a little chaos.

The games brought out a completely different energy from the night, especially when the boys took on Filipino-themed challenges. As someone whose bias is Jake, watching him attempt Tinikling was easily one of my favorite moments.

I mean, Jake?! Tinikling?!
