York indie legends Shed Seven have released their new single, “Let The Good Times Roll,” the latest track taken from their forthcoming seventh studio album, Shed Seven, set for release on 8th January 2027 via Cooking Vinyl.
Arriving amidst a completely sold-out UK tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album A Maximum High, “Let The Good Times Roll” follows previous singles “Stand Together” and “The Centre of My Everything.” The track lands as the band prepare for their biggest headline show to date at York’s 14,000-capacity LNER Community Stadium on 29th May 2027, which sold out immediately upon going on sale.
To mark the landmark event, the band have launched a special “York City” card wallet CD edition of the new album, featuring unique artwork and three bonus tracks, with all proceeds going directly to the York City Foundation. The stadium show will also feature a dedicated fan zone stage showcasing rising talent from York’s local music scene.
Reflecting on the record-breaking hometown stadium performance, frontman Rick Witter shared:
Our ambition, even as school kids, was to one day play our own stadium show. What kid who dreams of being in a rock ’n’ roll band doesn’t want to do that? Now… almost 40 years later, we’ve reached the point where we thought… it’s now or never. And if we were going to do it, it had to be York. What will make it even more special is that the stadium is a stone’s throw from where we met, went to school and where we first formed a band. We’re coming back to pretty much where it all began to play the biggest show of our career and that is a proper full-circle moment.
Summing up the optimistic theme behind the single, Witter added:
