Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard Announce Debut Album, Tall Tales, Share New Single

Pioneering electronic musician Mark Pritchard and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke have announced their debut collaborative album, “Tall Tales,” set for release on May 9th via Warp Records. The announcement follows the release of their single “Back In The Game” last month, marking their second recorded collaboration after 2016’s “Beautiful People.”

The duo has also unveiled a new single, “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice,” which premiered on BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne show. The track is accompanied by a music video created by visual artist Jonathan Zawada.

Pritchard, a prominent figure in 90s UK electronic music known for his projects Reload, Link, and Global Communication, has a history of remixing renowned artists, including Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey, and Slowdive. Yorke’s involvement marks his first release on Warp Records.

“Tall Tales” is described as a multi-layered and genre-spanning album, featuring 12 tracks that showcase Pritchard’s expertise in utilizing vintage synthesizers and Yorke’s introspective vocal delivery. The album explores dark and experimental sonic landscapes.

Visual artist Jonathan Zawada, considered an integral part of the project, designed the album artwork and directed the music videos for both released singles. Zawada’s work, which blends analog and digital techniques, creates hyperreal environments that juxtapose natural beauty with dystopian aesthetics. The music videos are part of a feature-length film developed by Zawada in conjunction with the album’s creation.

To celebrate the album’s release, one-night-only screenings of Zawada’s film will be held in select cinemas globally. Further details on these screenings are expected to be announced soon.
