Launched in 2020 during the pandemic, Sacrobosco was born out of Giacomo’s desire to create instrumental tracks driven by electronic elements. This venture sharply departed from his previous works under the alias Cadori.
Sacrobosco’s journey began with the debut EP Dam in 2020, followed by the double single Neon Sunshine/Avalanche later that year. However, it was the release of Both Sides of the Sky in 2021 that solidified Sacrobosco’s place in the electronic music scene. The album received critical acclaim, including praise from Emiliano Colasanti of 42 Records, who included it among the best releases of that year.
In 2023, Sacrobosco released two albums, IVXVI and IXVXI, which earned him recognition and an extensive live schedule. His international performances at venues like Kiosk Radio in Brussels, La Pointe Lafayette in Paris, and Madame Claude in Berlin further expanded his presence in the electronic music community.
2024 marked another significant milestone with the launch of Sacrobosco’s label, Antinational Noise. This new venture allows Giacomo to curate and release various electronic music projects, further showcasing his versatility and influence as an artist.
Looking ahead to his third full-length album, Sacrobosco is already generating buzz with the release of the single Once in March 2024. His collaboration with trumpeter Paolo Raineri has played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of this upcoming record, and Blackthrough is the latest teaser from that record.
A consistent theme in Sacrobosco’s music is the contrasting relationship between man and machine, and Blackthrough continues this exploration. The track drifts through a sequence of evolving sonic patterns, pulling the listener into a space where repetition meets unpredictability. Without using vocals, it still manages to communicate something visceral, almost tactile in its emotional reach.
Alongside Once, Blackthrough will feature on Apes + Tigers, Sacrobosco’s highly anticipated third album, which has already generated significant excitement. More details are expected soon.
