The stirring original single “Journey to the Moon” finds Metz, France-based artist Dan Szyller delivering an energetic rock appeal fueled by global unrest and a passion for discovery. Blending Brazilian roots with heavy-charged influences, Szyller crafts an immersive escape from a tumultuous world through scorched-earth solos and ambitious, star-reaching ferocity. It represents continued success for Szyller, who caught our ears in the past with standout singles like “King’s Hall” and “Drifter In The Sun.”
“Got a feeling out of the blue,” resonating vocals open, exuding a sense of “something to prove” as heavy-charged electric guitars and sturdy percussion intertwine. “I feel it coming, the shifting current,” Szyller’s magnetic delivery continues with cathartic passion, its heart-on-sleeve sentiments of feeling “left out” and diving into escapism then arising into a scorching-hot guitar solo as it passes the one-minute turn. The fervent vocals and heady waves of distortion retain a constant, enjoyable presence throughout, while the riveting additional guitar lines bolster an already-alluring rock production.
“The historic rift is burning,” Szyller’s momentum-filled vocals continue into a wholly satiating final minute. “Why not go to Mars?” a questioning ferocity rings out alongside twanging guitars; the music video’s depictions of Mars and outer space imagery add well to this concluding section, powerful and ambitious in its star-reaching entrancement. “Journey to the Moon” is another rousing rock tour-de-force from Dan Szyller, who succeeds here with a timeless, guitar-led ardor.
