London-based British-Bulgarian artist Stefan Lalchev moves with a Valentine’s-timed power ballad with the single “Won’t Let Go.” Produced by Jamie Sellers, the track pairs cinematic strings with an anthemic, open-hearted melody that explores loving in silence. Blending vulnerability with stadium-ready scale, Lalchev captures a journey of self-realization, fighting through darkest fears to emerge with a vibrant, heartfelt determination to hold on.
The track opens with a flurry of cinematic strings, pushing forth into glistening piano and click-clacking rhythms. “Every night I fall asleep with your name on my lips,” Lalchev’s smitten vocals let out, traversing a journey of self-realization in its “now it’s clear to me” climactic vibrancy. “So I won’t let go,” he soars with anthemic vigor, admitting “you’re the only one I want” amidst wordless vocal swells and shimmering acoustic strums. The powerfully emotive production reminds fondly of Erasure’s more organic, pop-ready efforts.
A perseverant push to face one’s “darkest fears” enamors in the subsequent verse, tracing further realizations and a “I won’t forget myself” determination to fight through hardship, and emerge with confidence intact. Twangy, illuminated guitar tones combine with “woah-oh” vocal elements for more hooky enjoyment, its “shout it from the rooftops” final climb delivers with colorful, heartfelt outpouring. “Won’t Let Go” is an impassioned pop success from Stefan Lalchev.
