‘Ghostbusters’ actress Jennifer Runyon dies, aged 65

Ghostbusters star Jennifer Runyon has passed away at the age of 65.

The actress played the small role of a student in the 1984 film, appearing in a scene involving a psychokinesis experiment, and also starred in a number of other film and TV roles across her career.

They included Cindy Brady in 1988’s A Very Brady Christmas, as well as comedy film Up the Creek the same year as Ghostbusters.

The news of her death was announced in a reported Facebook post on her page (via TMZ), which read: “This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family.”

“She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace our Jenn,” it added.

Her daughter Bayley shared an emotional Instagram post confirming the news, writing: “All of the best parts of me came from you. I would give anything for one more day together.”

She further called her mother “the kindest most compassionate person I’ve ever known” and “my best friend”, adding: “i wasn’t ready for this.”

Friend and fellow actress Erin Murphy paid tribute in an Instagram post, writing: “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

As well as Ghostbusters, Runyon appeared in episodes of shows such as The Fall Guy, Magnum, P.I., The Highwayman, Quantum Leap, Murder, She Wrote, and Beverly Hills, 90210.

She was married to Todd Corman, nephew to The Little Shop of Horrors director Roger Corman, and they had daughter Bayley and son Wyatt together.
