The beloved sitcom ran for six seasons from 2009 to 2015, and after years of fan campaigning, it appeared that a movie had been officially confirmed by Peacock in September 2022.

At the time, it was reported that original cast members Glover, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong were all to be reunited for the project, which was being helmed by series creator Dan Harmon.

Since then, however, progress has appeared to stall on the film, but in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Glover – who also records music under the name Childish Gambino – gave fans some reassurance that the project is not dead.

“We’re working on it right now,” he said. “I know everybody’s been saying that for forever, but I swear to you, I’m not lying about this. I really think that something is gonna happen soon.”
