The Drama brings together Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, but what songs feature on its soundtrack? Find out below.
The romantic comedy drama comes from writer and director Kristoffer Borgli, best known for the surreal 2023 Nicolas Cage film Dream Scenario.
Zendaya is bookstore clerk Emma Harwood and Pattinson is museum director Charlie Thompson, and together they are engaged couple, but as their wedding draws near, they begin to learn shocking secrets about each other.
The A24 film arrived in cinemas on Friday (April 3) and you can check out the trailer here:
The Drama is the first of three major films set to feature both Zendaya and Pattinson this year, with Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part Three still to come.
NME has awarded The Drama three stars, writing: “The discomfort that’s baked into the premise of The Drama is amplified by disconcerting camera moves, cuts and audio choices, as well as Daniel Pemberton’s unsettling score. But despite all that, Borgli successfully plays things primarily for laughs. It’s hard not to cackle at a photographer’s choice of words or Charlie anxiously editing his wedding speech. Like Dream Scenario, The Drama doesn’t quite stick the landing after such an intriguing set-up but leaves plenty to chew on if you’re brave enough to RSVP.”
The film includes an original score from the acclaimed English composer Daniel Pemberton, who is already riding high at the box office thanks to his memorable work on the Ryan Gosling sci-fi hit Project Hail Mary.
In addition, there are quite a few needle drop moments throughout the film, including tracks from Alicia Keys, Todd Terje and Judee Sill.
