“here we go AGAIN” provides the first glimpse into Adam Wedd‘s upcoming album, radiating a life-affirming, spring-like energy. Refined by producer Paul Tipler, the track transforms frustration with negativity into a soulful anthem of perseverance, authenticity, and heart-on-sleeve optimism, representing a standout success from the London-based artist and multi-instrumentalist.
Tender, warming guitar tones complement a suave vocal introspection, musing on the ebbs and flows of life. “Somedays my heart is open wide, other days not today,” Wedd’s vocals let out, vulnerable in admissions of fear and self-questioning in arriving to the soulful “heart’s on my way” hopefulness. His heightened vocal emotion and “here we go again” backing vocal harmonies are wholly affecting, the “with a friend” addition bolstering themes of embracing those who are positive and helpful in life, rather than those with a tendency to diminish joy and potential.
Further references to “home on the open road” and a plea to “open up” dazzle with heartfelt appeal, culminating in another hooky “here we go again” refrain; that title-bearing segment hooks in its charming melodic presence and cathartic sense, resembling a willingness to open one’s heart following past wrongs by others. “here we go AGAIN” is an emotively affecting, sincere piece of engaging songwriting from Adam Wedd, whose upcoming full-length album we’re now certainly anticipating.
