St. Blue is a Brighton-based alternative pop artist. Her focus has always been on making meaningful music. She is back with her newest single, ‘Chasing Highs’. The song explores the recurring races we find ourselves in, both emotionally and romantically.
The song kicks off with a jazz-infused, smooth groove. Sultry vocals soon slice through the sound. The vocal grit in the pre-chorus section is ear candy. The cascading instrumental after each deft delivery of the title is simply sublime. The sound immediately begins to ‘chase the high’ as it elevates in pitch, sound and tone. I am sure this is done purposefully. This song has clearly had the touch of a musical savant.
St. Blue has a sound focused on live instrumentation and careful consideration of each note. Her craft is extremely intentional. Having not released since 2020, it feels like she has had the opportunity to really focus on her sound and choose a direction for her music. It is crystal clear that this has been done to full effect. I wait for St. Blue’s future releases with great anticipation.
