What a big booming effort this is from Boston’s Vivid Bloom, echo and reverb and the sort of opening that could put some off due to its explosive drama. But that would be to miss out on the subtlety that comes packaged with ‘In Strange Places’ and from a variety of sources, primarily an ethereal voice from the heavens but also a flotilla of guitar movements that sound utterly all-encompassing when wrapped in headphones.
