An unconventional rhythm section due to the overt percussion but Josaleigh Pollett can’t help but draw us back into folk territory because that is just her want. So we get an organic work that appears to have read the untapped potential of early summer and ‘Like A River’ appears to be constantly on the way to gushing forward with all manner of goodness. It is the anticipation that gives this track so much oxygen, its hypnotic swells the making of an experience that borders on transcendental. Think deep. KH
